Scanned Sketchbooks
2017 Archived
Overview
In 2023 I scanned every sketchbook I’d filled since 2013 — roughly a decade of drawings, notes, diagrams, and half-formed ideas. The process took weeks and produced thousands of pages.
Why
Sketchbooks are private by nature, but they’re also a record. I wanted to make that record legible, both to myself and eventually to others. There’s something about seeing ten years of work laid out flat that’s clarifying in a way that living through it isn’t.
What’s Here
The archive includes everything: product sketches for things that got made, things that didn’t, typographic experiments, diagrams I made while reading, drawings made on planes and in waiting rooms. It’s unedited.
Access
A curated selection is available to view. The full archive is not public.
