Table Lamps
2016 Archived
Overview
A set of table lamps made during a period of learning papermaking. The shades are hand-formed from pulp that includes salvaged materials — shredded envelopes, torn drawings, fabric scraps — which give each one a distinct texture and translucency.
Construction
The bases are cut and bent from 2mm cold-rolled steel, finished with a natural oil to prevent rust and develop a patina over time. The electrical components are all standard and replaceable.
Notes
These were made as one-offs for my own home and for a few friends. Not currently in production, but the process is well-documented and revisitable.
