Tubular Mirrors
2017 Archived
Overview
Tubular Mirrors were the first exploration of a form language I’ve returned to repeatedly. Bent steel tube, mirror glass, and minimal hardware — each piece designed to feel like it could almost be furniture, but isn’t quite.
Origin
The series came out of a period of working with tube benders and discovering how few bends it takes to make something that reads as a complete object. The mirror element came later, as a way to activate the negative space the tubes defined.
Legacy
This work directly informed Tube Mirrors Redux (2026), which revisits and refines the original concept with improved fabrication techniques and a tighter formal vocabulary.
